The Shaoxing Guesthouse was completed in 2008. When the PLAYZE Shanghai team visited the building around 15 years later, they were impressed to find it in impeccable condition. This is not only due to the careful maintenance of the building by the client, but also to the materials and details used. We placed great emphasis on the use of traditional materials and techniques. We were able to learn a lot from the builders, who were still familiar with these historical techniques. It is gratifying to see that this care is now paying off so clearly.
