
Blockhaus Nikolskoe
Neue Identität für ein traditionsreiches Restaurant.
Das Blockhaus Nikolskoe wurde von Friedrich Wilhelm III. von Preußen in Auftrag gegeben und 1819 anlässlich des Besuchs seiner Tochter Charlotte und ihres Gatten Nikolaus I. von Russland, dem späteren Kaiser, erbaut. Zusammen mit der benachbarten St. Peter und Paul Kirche, der ehemaligen Freischule und dem Friedhof Pfaueninsel bildet das Blockhaus ein architektonisches Ensemble, das Teil des UNESCO-Welterbes „Schlösser und Parks von Potsdam und Berlin“ ist.
Wir wurden mit der Entwicklung einer neuen Identität für die Gästebereiche des Restaurants betraut. Das Wichtigste war, die historisierenden Elemente der letzten Jahrzehnte loszuwerden und die beeindruckende Holzkonstruktion aus ganzen Baumstämmen freizulegen. Neben den minimalistischen Möbeln, die in ihren Details die Rundungen der Stämme widerspiegeln, spielt das Licht die Hauptrolle bei dieser zurückhaltenden Transformation. Durch die bewusste Verteilung von diffusen und fokussierten Lichtquellen werden unterschiedliche Atmosphären geschaffen.
